(for a list of Carnival Queens click here)
Walney's 2003 carnival set off as planned from the Roundhouse at 13:00 on the 6th July, proceeding north east along Ocean Road until turning left into Black Butts Lane. At the most northerly junction of Black Butts the carnival turned right onto Central Drive followed by an immediate left turn on to Moor Tarn Lane, following the road round to Mill Lane. The carnival procession completed it's route at North Walney Junior School Field to allow the afternoons planned events to take place...
The carnival was to witness a special guest appearance by BBC's Pudsy Bear
2003 - Carnival Queen Limara Townsend and her ladies in waiting - Georgia Andrews & Louise Rawlinson.
Black Butts Lane residents and friends line the route, awaiting the carnival. Even the Americans came over for a look...

it's dance troupes,
the viewing public,
and least of all the good weather that held out for the entire day...
